Dr. Gaber Abdellatif

Biography

Gaber Abdellatif is a highly specialized Researcher in Water Reuse and Circular Economy, driving sustainable resource policy and management across the MENA region. Expecting his Ph.D. in Water Resources Management in 2026, his work utilizes advanced model and economic analysis to implement circular solution.

Currently, Gaber Abdellatif is with the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), where they coordinate research activities for the ReWater+ project, focusing on the policy, socio-economic, and water quality monitoring of water reuse in Arab States, especially Egypt and Jordan. His technical background, developed during a tenure at Wageningen Environmental Research, includes contribution to national-scale models for Egypt, such as the Ribasim water allocation model and the NASME agricultural economic model. This work is vital for assessing non-conventional water source viability in a complex water system like Egypt. Gaber Abdellatif also provides governance insight, previously developing national policy for water service and groundwater pricing in Saudi Arabia.
