Biography
Qais N. Al-Oweiti is a fully funded PhD student in Mechanical Engineering at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia. His research focuses on desalination, thermal systems, and sustainable energy applications. He began his research career with work on energy recovery and thermoelectric generation, including hybrid TEG radiator systems for space heating and power generation. During his PhD, he expanded into desalination and contributed to studies on hybrid multi effect and membrane desalination systems, as well as renewable powered reverse osmosis integrated with battery, hydrogen, and pumped hydro storage. His current PhD research centers on batch reverse osmosis, with emphasis on both fundamental analysis and technoeconomic assessment. His broader interests include energy efficient desalination, hybrid water treatment systems, and renewable driven process design.
