Appearing as Presenter
Speaking on Process and design

Christine Kleffner is Co-Founder and CTO of Harmony Desalting, a spin-off of MIT, USA, and Professor of Sustainable Process Engineering at Bochum University of Applied Sciences, Germany. She holds a Doctor of Engineering (Dr.-Ing.), an M.Eng. in Process and Supply Engineering, and a Dipl.-Ing. (FH) in Process Engineering and Plant Design.

With fifteen years of R&D experience in applied membrane technology for desalination, Christine develops cutting-edge processes for energy- and resource-efficient water treatment, brine concentration, and industrial water valorization. Her work pushes the limits of membrane technologies, such as ultra-high-pressure RO and NF processes, to deliver economically and environmentally sustainable solutions. Pilot-scale testing and scalable designs ensure her innovations translate directly into industrial practice.

Her goal is to accelerate the transition to circular economy practices and advance sustainable process technologies with tangible impact.
