Biography
Dr. Dahiru U. Lawal is a Senior Research Engineer at the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Membranes and Water Security and affiliated to Mechanical Engineering Department, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia. He earned his Ph.D. and M.Sc. in mechanical engineering from KFUPM. His research focuses on membrane and thermal desalination, wastewater treatment, thermodynamic analysis of thermal systems, renewable energy applications in desalination, atmospheric water harvesting, and zero liquid discharge systems. Dr. Lawal has published extensively in leading international journals, presented at major conferences, and holds more than thirty filed and granted US and WO patents. He has also taught and supervised undergraduate and graduate students in materials science, thermal desalination, and related engineering fields. His work has received several recognitions, including KFUPM’s Early Career Research Award and Highly Cited Paper Awards.
