At the Opening Ceremony of the IDRA World Congress 2024, the International Desalination and Reuse Association (IDRA) officially announced the Saudi Water Authority (SWA) as the host of the IDRA World Congress 2026, which will be held in Riyadh from 1–5 November 2026 under the patronage of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA). The announcement was marked by the traditional IDRA World Congress flag handover ceremony, symbolizing the official transition of the Congress to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
