Session 5: Integration Between Government, the Private Sector and Finance (PPP)
About this session
Opening remarks followed by a moderated discussion.
An extended dialogue bringing together distinguished leaders representing the three sides of the triangle: government officials from regulatory authorities and policy making entities, private sector executives responsible for operating and developing water reuse and desalination projects, and leaders from development finance institutions and infrastructure investment funds. The discussion will explore how regulation, operations, and finance complement one another in transforming water projects from concepts into bankable and sustainable assets.
Objectives:
• Demonstrate how a stable regulatory environment translates into investor confidence and reduced cost of capital.
• Highlight the role of development finance and blended finance in bridging the investment gap in the water sector.
• Identify the success factors of public-private partnerships in water reuse and desalination projects.
