Session 5: towards regulatory integration across the GCC

A regional dialogue led by the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The session is based on the fact that GCC countries share highly similar water conditions, characterized by water scarcity, heavy reliance on desalination, and interconnected electricity and water networks. It explores how the GCC regulatory landscape can evolve from parallel national regulatory frameworks toward greater harmonization through the exchange of technical standards, regulatory requirements, performance measurement tools, and GCC wide benchmarking.
